You May Have Inherited Limiting Beliefs, But You Can Release & Rise Above Them

genes release & rise Nov 16, 2022

"So many of us are leading limited lives not because we have to but because we think we have to." ~ Bruce H. Lipton, PhD (The Biology of Belief)

In Chapter 5 of my book, Wholistic Wisdom, which Dr. Lipton endorsed, I speak about the power of belief.

Many studies on the placebo effect have shown that there’s little difference between patient groups that actually received medication or treatment and groups that only believed they did.

Belief is powerful enough to change even our physical health. But belief can go both ways.

As much as we can believe ourselves into a state of healing, love, and peace, our limiting beliefs can also keep us stuck on the negative side of the spectrum.

When we stay in a low-vibrational thought loop, our brain stresses, our body suffers, and our ability to improve our experience diminishes.

But what if we inherited certain limiting beliefs without even being conscious of them?

As Alejandro and I have discovered through analyzing people’s vibrational frequencies, most humans experience a drop in frequency from incarnation to birth. Something profound happens in-utero that passes programming to the next generation.

The study of Epigenetics provides scientific evidence to support our findings from the biofield.

One of the best-known studies was conducted by Dr. Rachel Yehuda on the children of Holocaust survivors and showed how severe trauma can have intergenerational effects. [1.]

For those of us whose ancestors lived through stressful or traumatic circumstances, this means we’re likely to experience the adverse after-effects.

"The message of the study is that we respond to our environments in multiple ways that can have long-lasting, transformative effects," Yehuda says. "The implications are that what happens to our parents, or perhaps even to our grandparents or previous generations, may help shape who we are on a fundamental molecular level that contributes to our behaviors, beliefs, strengths, and vulnerabilities." [2.]

So, if our fears and limiting beliefs are being passed down genetically from our ancestors before we were born, is it even possible for us to release and rise above them?

Here’s where Epigenetics gets really interesting and gives us reason to be extremely optimistic.

Your genes play an important role in your health, but so do your behaviors and environment. Unlike genetic changes, epigenetic changes are reversible and do not change your DNA sequence, but they can change how your body reads a DNA sequence. [3.]

As geneticist Moshe Szyf explains, “DNA is not just a sequence of letters; it’s not just a script. DNA is a dynamic movie. Our experiences are being written into that movie, which is interactive. You’re like watching a movie of your life, with the DNA, with your remote control. You can remove an actor, and add an actor. So, in spite of the deterministic nature of genetics, you have control of the way your genes look. And this has a tremendous optimistic message.” [4.]

Just like the notes in a symphony, you can’t change your genetic material. But just as notes can be combined to make different melodies, you can influence how your genes are expressed!

What our ancestors went through definitely affects us, but it’s what we do with this inheritance that defines us.

This is also something we’ve seen evidence of time and time again in our reading of lifetime vibrational frequencies. Just because you experience a drop in frequency in-utero, doesn't mean your numbers are fixed at birth. In fact, it’s very much a matter of choice and consciousness.

In other words, the first step to release and rise above our limiting beliefs is to acknowledge and become aware of them.

When it comes to limiting beliefs and intergenerational programming, the karma of our past doesn’t have to determine the destiny of our future! We can change the script.

Before becoming a much-loved spiritual teacher, Dr. Bruce Lipton was publishing pioneering scientific studies that investigated the crossover from consciousness to cellular expression.

He was able to demonstrate, through observing the chemistry of cell cultures, the crucial role that love has to play — not only our emotional well-being but in our physical health, too.

Simply put, the chemicals released in love result in health and harmony and a glowing body. But in a state of fear, the brain releases stress hormones and inflammatory agents. The antidote to fear is love. And love starts within.

As Dr. Lipton explains in an interview for Integrative Medicine, “As we change our mind, we change our biology. We are capable of changing the environment we live in and we are capable of changing our perceptions. Therefore, we are not victims, but we are actually masters of our genetic activity. We have to recognize that the belief of being a victim is a perception. If that is what you believe, then you can be a victim because you are going to translate your perception into biology. Our consciousness is the source of the great potential of creating heaven on Earth.” [4.]

So, instead of feeling bad about your limiting beliefs or being trapped by them, you need to find ways to recognize and identify where you are being driven by this unconscious programming.

Until we release this programming, it will continue to weigh us down, limiting our growth, holding us back from embodying our highest self, and preventing us from rising to our fullest expression.

This isn’t about finding someone to blame or punish, though. Quite the opposite. Shame and guilt only hold us hostage as victims of our own lives. As we release programming, it’s equally important for us to release these low vibrational frequency emotions, whether directed at ourselves or past generations.

Forgiveness is the key to freedom.

Trust is the pathway to unconditional love.

It’s time to let go!

“We are not victims of our genes, but masters of our fates, able to create lives overflowing with peace, happiness, and love.” ~ Dr. Bruce Lipton
