Hello and welcome to today’s podcast. My name is Elena Bensonoff. In my work as a quantum energy practitioner, I pay close attention when I see trends with my clients. A resounding complaint that I keep hearing recently is that people are feeling worn out, sluggish, becoming ill often, and generally feeling lousy without a clear reason why. If this describes how you have been feeling too, what I am about to share may be a key to regaining your health.
Today, I am going to introduce you to your lymphatic system. We will learn why it is important, what happens when it becomes congested, and I will leave you with three ideas to help clear lymphatic congestion.
For many of us, our routines have changed quite dramatically in the past year or so. We have been home bound: working from home, playing from home, and cooking at home. Gym access has been limited. We may even get groceries and necessities delivered to our home. As a result, we have become more sedentary without realizing it. After all, walking from the kitchen to the couch isn’t very far. Unless we have been mindful about our movement on a daily basis, it’s likely that you have slowed way down.
Now, why does this matter?
Unlike the cardiovascular system which is pumped along by your heart, the lymphatic system works against gravity by using the movement of your body as you breathe and your muscles move and contract.
Your lymphatic system is an intricate network of vessels, organs, and tissues that work together to move a fluid called lymph through your body. The lymphatic system functions like a filtration system in your body. As the fluid moves along, it collects cellular waste and carries it along to be detoxified by the kidneys and liver.
The lymphatic system is also a vital part of your immune system which protects you from harmful bacteria and viruses. White blood cells, beneficial bacteria, and mechanisms which trap pathogens are all found throughout the lymphatic system. If this immune system were to become compromised, you become more vulnerable to infection and disease.
The lymphatic system maintains a fluid balance in your body. Every day, a whopping 2-3 liters of fluid is filtered through the lymphatic system!
When you experience swelling and water retention, often that is a sign that there is a blockage that needs to be cleared in you lymph. Think of this congestion like a clogged sink drain. Debris and sludge accumulate over time, creating a buildup. When your lymphatic system is congested, your body is unable to process the toxins and waste. This build up of junk can lead to a wide array of health problems.
Thankfully, there are many ways you can work with the lymphatic system to get things moving freely:
I hope this information inspires you to take an active role in your health and appreciate your lymphatic system. Our bodies are incredible in design and work hard each and every day to protect and support us. By incorporating small changes to your daily routine I know that you will begin to feel amazing and empowered.
